I am an experienced counsellor in GP surgeries and an ex-teacher and lecturer in counselling. I like to think of myself as a feet-on-the-ground, down-to-earth kind of person but one who is also sensitive to the complexities of all our lives and how our difficulties are wrapped up in who we are and how we have become that person.

In the past I have counselled people with anxiety, depression, bereavement issues, sexual issues, stress ( from work, in particular) and relationship difficulties - many young and many elderly people, and people from a variety of backgrounds.

I draw on my knowledge of a variety of approaches (CBT, Person-centred, TA, for example) in order to help, though I believe that it is the quality of the relationship between the client and counsellor that brings about the kind of change the client is looking for. You can be assured of respect, confidentiality and honesty.
